They bring local knowledge which expatriates do not have. They experience stress and often work in high risk situations. In coming months we will be offering various course which aim to help Afghan workers cope with and reduce stress. Focusing Coping with Stress Stress Management for Afghan National Workers NGOs, organizations and government ministries could consider whether these courses might be a part of their duty of care for their Afghan national staff members. The Healthy Afghan Girl Program This is a psychosocial training program built upon a mentoring model and enlists female Afghan teachers to serve in the role of mentors. The teachers are trained in a social work model of case management, where they learn to assess each child individually and then work with the child to develop a personalized training program.
